The newest entry in the series presents Keanu Reeves as Shadow, a beloved video game character first appearing in 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2 as a kind of anti-Sonic. Shadow is characterized by his dark and edgy nature while possessing abilities similar to the iconic blue hedgehog. The narrator explains, “Shadow’s journey started much like yours, Sonic, but while you discovered family and friends, Shadow encountered only suffering and loss.” Sonic the Hedgehog 3 races into theaters on December 20, 2024.
